Kalani Tonga is biracial, and often says that her life has been characterized by lots of seemingly opposite “halves”: she is a liberal feminist, but also an active Mormon; she is half Swedish, and half Tongan; she started her collegiate career at the University of Utah, but graduated from BYU. Kalani is a history teacher and volleyball coach by vocation, a mother of 5 hilariously funny little monsters, and she loves to play the guitar and the ukulele, sing, and write, although she does not consider herself particularly proficient at any of those things.
